Rosemary's bio:

Joined Clanfield Parish Council in May 2015

Member of Crimea Barn Project Group, Planning Committee

A naval family, we moved to Clanfield when I was a small child in 1962, my sister and I attending Clanfield County Primary School - the only village school. Happy memories, including defrosting the school milk on the classroom boiler in winter!

I worked in public service for thirty-four years until being retired three years ago. As part of the EHDC planning support team, I was latterly involved with the development of the online planning service and providing work experience for graduates - an innovative and rewarding time.

Involvement with Clanfield Parish Council began in early 2015, when I requested and gained support in a bid to save Down Farm Barn - Crimea Barn - from demolition, as part of the latest housing development. Continuing my public service, I joined the parish council in May 2015 and the project to transfer ownership of the barn site from the developer to the parish council is now finally progressing.

I am a member of Horndean Bio-diversity Group and have a strong interest in environmental issues: wildlife, heritage and historical research, particularly World War One.

I feel we must provide opportunities and facilities for young people in our community; with a focus on those who are not 'joiners' and those with caring responsibilities.
