Peter Hurst

Councillor

Peter's bio:

I moved into Clanfield in 2004. I am delighted to live in Clanfield, and enjoy both running and walking around our village, and enjoy the numerous beautiful views.

I joined the Parish Council in September 2018. I Chair the Finance and General Purposes Committee and serve on the Down Farm Barn Working Group and am a Trustee for South Lane Meadow.

I spent nearly 40 years teaching in comprehensive schools and was then invited to work for the University of Chichester, where I worked for 10 years.

I have enjoyed a number of volunteering opportunities including supporting the early work on the Village Pond, Clanfield Coronavirus Community Support Group, Volunteer Ranger at Queen Elizabeth Country Park, Para-Olympic Games, World Athletics, World Para-Athletics and Americas Cup.

I am the Chair of Governors for a Hampshire Academy.

I started running just before my 60th birthday and will be running the Great South for the fourth time later this year, I have also managed to complete the Clanfield Challenge on two occasions. I enjoy skiing and look forward to 2 or 3 visits to the mountains during the ski season.
