David Harris

Councillor

David's bio:

I have lived in Clanfield for 5 years and have recently married my partner who has lived in the village for considerably longer! I retired from full-time employment in March 2018 having spent all of my career working in technology both as a consultant and in senior management roles in some large multi-national companies including Diageo, Allied Domeq and latterly Burberry.

I lived in Devon and commuted to work in London and abroad for many years bringing up 3 boys and most of my spare time that I had was taken up by sporting activities. Part of the team that founded a village cricket club now playing in the Devon League, captaining the side, running and coaching kids cricket and football teams, treasurer and secretary of the village community swimming pool and treasurer of the local school PTA.

I now have more time to involve myself in the community and am delighted to have joined the hard-working Parish Council to do exactly that. I am on a steep learning curve at the moment and have limited experience of local but I hope I can bring my experience in the corporate world to bring a new dimension to the community.

Main interests are still technology, social media, sports, and music.
