Clanfield Parish Council is recruiting a Parish Ranger to assist with the maintenance of its land, facilities and other assets. This is a new role.

The Council owns and manages over 20 hectares (50 acres) of land and property in eleven locations. The portfolio includes 4 children’s playgrounds, sports pitches and open space for recreation and other community facilities. The Council also manages 51 allotment plots on two sites.

Whilst the bulk of the grounds maintenance is done by an external contractor, there are day to day issues which arise that the Ranger would be expected to deal with, such as small remedial works and repairs to Council assets. They will also be responsible for the playground inspections and meeting contractors on site.

You will need to be able to work outdoors in all weathers and have some experience of grounds maintenance work and working with contractors. You will be expected to use some equipment including mowers, strimmers, hedge cutters and other landscaping machinery from time to time.

The successful candidate will undertake relevant training in order to fulfil the role and must have a full UK driving licence.

Full details of the role and an application form are available on the Council’s website

(12 hours per week) £6,514 per annum

The closing date for applications is 4pm on Friday 18 March 2022.
