Arrangements are gathering pace to celebrate The Queen’s Platinum Jubilee
It is now only 4 weeks away and the arrangements for the Clanfield Community Festival to celebrate the Queen’s Platinum Jubilee are gathering pace. The event will be held on the Endal Way Field and in the adjacent Clanfield Centre from 12 Noon until 6.00 pm on Sunday 5th June and the joint organisers, Clanfield Parish Council and Community First, are expecting a big turnout of residents for the occasion.
Among the latest attractions to book their attendance are the ever-popular Face Fanatics.
There will be an entertainment programme, co-ordinated by a DJ and including 3 singers and performances by pupils of Clanfield Junior School. An arena in the centre of the field will host a range of sports, competitions, and displays with plenty of opportunities for residents to take part. Around the arena, there will be picnic areas, opportunities to meet many of the community and sports clubs in the village, refreshments (both on the field and in The Clanfield Centre) and there will also be stalls selling crafts etc.
As Parish Council Chairman, John Bannell, says:
“We are planning an enjoyable day for everyone and I hope it will be an occasion which the whole village will remember and talk about for a long time to come.
“All households should have received a leaflet about the event during the last few days and banners will be going up around the village sometime next week.
“There is still time for any community organisation or club in the village who is not yet in touch with us to have a stand on what will be known for the day as “Community Boulevard” and we would also like to hear from villagers who would be willing to be part of the Site Marshal team on the day. If you are interested and can help, please contact the Council Office (Tel: 02392 571077) or Contact Us on www.clanfieldpc.org.uk .”
