In only 2 weeks’ time, on Sunday 5 June, Clanfield will be holding one of its biggest events for years. The Clanfield Community Festival, to celebrate the Queen’s Platinum Jubilee, will be taking place on the Endal Way Field and at the adjacent Clanfield Centre. The event will be open from 12 Noon until 6.00 pm.
Are you getting your teams organised for the games that you will be able to play in the arena on the field? There will be tug-of-war, egg and spoon races, sack races, three legged races and relay races for both children (in age groups) and adults. Registration for these will be on the day.
There will be a DJ, performances by local singers and dancers and by pupils of Clanfield Junior School. You will be able to meet many of the community clubs and organisations in the village, visit some stalls and choose from a range of food options. Also on the field, there will be face painting and a “Guess the number of balls in a Limousine” competition.
At the Clanfield Centre, you will be able to meet the Fire Engine and, inside the building, there will be the bouncy castle and craft classes (including making a flag and decorating a crown).
It will be a great village community event. Make sure you are there and make sure you take part.
Please walk to this event if you can. There will be no visitor parking except for disabled persons by prior booking with the Clanfield Centre on 023 9421 1650.
The event is being organised by local people for local people and, at 3.00 pm, we will all be pausing for a few minutes to recognise Her Majesty’s huge achievement of 70 years as our Queen.
