Following this morning’s statement, Clanfield Parish Council is now able to say that contractors have been booked to clean up Peel Park, following the departure of the travellers, on Monday.

In the meantime, this afternoon and as an interim measure, red and white tape has been put in place across the openings to the hedge and bushes on the Petersfield Lane side of the Park.

Parish Council Chairman, John Bannell, said:

“Monday is the earliest that our contractors can undertake this work and we are fortunate that they are able to respond then.

“Until the clean-up has been completed, I would ask everyone to stay away from the Petersfield Lane side of the Park and, in particular, I would urge parents to ensure that their children do not go beyond the tape and into the hedge and the bushes.”
