No Objections raised to either of the above

25963/016 INSTALLATION OF AN ATM POD AT THE FRONT OF THE BUILDING - SOUTHERN CO-OPERATIVE LTD, 2-14 WHITE DIRT LANE
Whilst supporting the need for an ATM at the Co-operative store Clanfield Parish Council do have concerns with regards to the proposed siting as it would impede pedestrian movements and "force" them out from the protection of the canopy. As shown on the plans it could be inconvenient and obstructive to pedestrians. There could also be a potential security and health and safety issue

SDNP/18/ LISTED BUILDING CONSENT - REPLACEMENT WINDOWS - CHALTON WINDMILL 05184/LIS WINDMILL LANE CHALTON
Clanfield Parish Council agreed to the previous Application SDNP/18/02056/LIS upon the grounds that the original windows from the 1978 conversion were replaced in 1994 to double glazed UPVC. Although refused, as it was considered by the nature of the use of UPVC window frames with triple glazing as inappropriate for its historic context and would have a detrimental impact on the appearance of the historic core. The site is exposed to strong winds from the southwest with this in mind Clanfield Parish Council have No Objections to the revised proposal, for four windows with new wooden frames with triple glazing -this change would have no impact upon the surrounding area.

The following applications were discussed:

Notification of Planning Appeal

29605/002 TWO DETACHED DWELLINGS & THREE TERRACED COTTAGES WITH CAR PARKING, FOLLOWING DEMOLITION OF EXISTING DWELLING - 57 CHALTON LANE

CPC comments: Clanfield Parish Council strongly OBJECT to the application as it is considered contrary to the Core Strategy CP1, CP10 Spatial Strategy for Housing, CP29 Design of Houses and the National Planning Policy Framework which excludes land in built up areas such as residential gardens; it is considered overdevelopment of the site, completely out of character to the street scene, inappropriate use of the site, back garden development and would set a precedent for future developments of this kind. There are major concerns with regards to the demolition of a perfectly suited bungalow sited in this area on the edge of the South Downs National Park. The proposed terrace to the rear of the site would have a detrimental effect on the neighbouring properties and there are concerns with regards to the removal of so many established trees. The proposed use of the existing access on to Chalton Lane would also cause an increased hazard and risk

EHDC refused – details on the EHDC website

Members of the public were in attendance and raised issues with regards to the above they were urged to write independently direct to the Inspector to lodge any further comments they may have other than those they had already raised – all documentation already submitted to EHDC would be passed to the Inspector
