The Parish Council (then known as the Parish Council of Clanfield and Chalton) acquired the land known as Peel Park from the Executors of The Right Honourable Eleanor Countess Peel on 12 September 1951 (the 1951 Conveyance). In the 1951 Conveyance, it says that the purchase price paid by the Parish Council was £300 although, from correspondence, it seems that a cheque for £300 was previously gifted by the Executors to the Parish Council. Therefore, in net terms, the Parish Council paid the legal fees only. The Parish Council had leased most of what is now Peel Park from Lady Peel prior to 1951. Lady Peel died in 1949.

Peel park is located on Chalton Lane between South Lane and New Road. The park is used by locals for a range of leisure activities including football, basketball and skating.

Peel Park is also home to Clanfield Football Club.
